Perez Hilton is apologizing for the gay slur he threw at Will.I.Am on Sunday night in Toronto -- with an asterisk.
GLAAD had asked the battered blogger for an "I'm sorry" a few days back -- but Hilton makes it perfectly clear that GLAAD can pound sand. Here's the mea culpa for calling Will.I.Am a "fa**ot."
"I am apologizing to the gay community, to anyone who was hurt by my choice of words," adding "the 'F' word will never be uttered from my lips again."
Perez also says, "I have reached out to Isaiah Washington, someone I incorrectly labeled a homophobe, despite his own public statements that he was not."
Perez Hilton is striking back at the man who allegedly punched him in the face -- by filing a civil lawsuit against him.
Hilton is suing Polo Molina -- the road manager for the Black Eyed Peas -- for battery and an intentional infliction of emotional distress. Hilton's suit claims Molina attacked him outside of a Toronto club on Sunday night because the blogger wouldn't stop writing about the Black Eyed Peas on his website. The suit wants payback in excess of $25,000.
Molina turned himself in to Toronto cops on Monday and was charged with assault -- he is due back in court on August 5.
Hilton's attorney, Bryan Freedman, just released the following statement:
"Perez Hilton files this lawsuit to protect his freedom of speech and seeks legal redress against those who have physically assaulted him because they do not like his review of their album. Whether you love Perez or hate him, he is entitled to his freedom of speech without fear of physical violence. This lawsuit will make the statement that violence is never the answer."
Right before going to bed last night, Perez Hilton and John Mayer shared a heated exchange on, well, Twitter of course.
"From the heart," Mayer writes to Perez, "what you experienced these last 24 hrs is a profound lack of control. You can't blog the world, my friend."
The argument consisted of over a dozen saucy back-and-forth posts. Perez tirelessly defends his honor while Mayer suggests better ways Perez could have handled the situation with Will.I.Am, going as far as to cite rules of the Israeli martial art, Krav Maga.
Here's a taste:
Mayer: Perez Hilton's video statement is so long that by the end of it his cut healed.
Perez: That's real funny! Ha ha! And I'm sure you also think I "deserved" to get hit! Mayer: I also want to train you in an old martial art called "Never Call A Black Dude a F**got Jitsu."
Perez: Dude, I get it. I GET IT. But it's not f**king funny to me. Karma would be me losing my site and going bankrupt or what have u.
And as if the whole world coming down on the sassy blogger weren't enough, Mayer tops off his beef by calling Perez a "dumb sh*t."
Here it is ... the exact moment Perez Hilton took a closed fist to the dome piece.
If you look closely at the photo, obtained by Canadian website DrinkTheGlitter.com, you can see the clenched fist ... the scared look in his face ... and is that Lady GaGa?
It's unclear from the photo who the fist belongs to -- although Perez claims Will.I.Am's manager Polo threw the punch after the blogger and the rapper got into it outside an awards show after-party in Toronto.
GLAAD was furious when they heard Perez Hilton used a gay slur to attack Will.I.Am on Sunday night -- and even asked for an apology -- but now Perez is ticked off at the organization for being ticked at him. Follow that?
Hilton, a former GLAAD employee, tells TMZ:
"I am saddened GLAAD chose to victimize me further by criticizing me for how I non-violently dealt with a very scary situation that, unfortunately, turned violent. While I doubt I will get an apology from GLAAD, nor do I expect one, I would just hope people know how difficult it is to intellectualize a situation and think rationally when a thug disguised as a musician is screaming at your face and intimidating you. I am just very fortunate and grateful that nothing more serious happened to me."
Perez Hilton said he used the word "f**got" to tick off Will.I.Am -- and it worked -- but turns out the Black Eyed Pea wasn't the only one who got offended.
GLAAD -- the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation -- says they've asked P-nasty to apologize for using the highly offensive gay slur ... but have yet to hear a peep from his foul mouth.
GLAAD sent us the following statement:
"We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story.
For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, 'The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,' is incredibly dangerous.
It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes."
TMZ has just obtained video footage of the heated confrontation between Perez Hilton and Will.I.Am -- in which Perez can clearly be heard calling the Black Eyed Pea a "f**king f*ggot."
The footage begins in the middle of the verbal altercation outside an after-party for a music award show in Toronto -- moments after Hilton claims Will went after him like a "heat-seeking missile" and unleashed a verbal tirade at him.
With a crowd surrounding Perez, Will and Will's manager, Polo -- the guys argue back and forth for about a minute, until Perez tells Will, "you're not a f**king artist ... you're a f**king f*ggot."
The scene suddenly turns chaotic -- and in the mess someone punches Perez in the face.
On a video blog on his website, Hilton claims Will's manager hit him "two or three times."
Will also posted a video blog saying he never hit anyone.
Perez Hilton just posted a super-emotional video on his blog, blasting Will.I.Am as a "coward and a disgusting human being for lying."
WARNING: This video contains VERY explicit language.
During the 12 minute clip, Perez says the whole thing started after a confrontation with Fergie at an award show after-party. Perez claims Fergie came up to him and asked why he trashed her on his website.
Hilton claims they eventually went their separate ways, but later in the night, Will.I.Am -- Fergie's bandmate -- saw Hilton and came at him "like a heat seeking missile," demanding Hilton stop writing about Fergie and his band on his PerezHilton.com.
Hilton claims Will and his manager, Polo, followed him outside the club -- and then Polo punched him in the head "2 or 3 times."
Hilton claims when he got hit, he thought to himself, "I think my eye might be falling out of my head."
Perez added this parting shot to Will, "God knows it was not a random fan that hit me ... you a re a f**king liar."
Minutes earlier Will I. Am released his own video message, claiming he didn't beat Perez.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is accusing Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am of assault -- but we've learned cops have targeted someone else.
After last night's MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Perez posted to his Twitter: "I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke."
But cops in Toronto tell us it was the general manager of the Black Eyed Peas -- Polo Molina -- who is under investigation and he turned himself in to police early this morning.
Here's the string of tweets Perez left on his Twitter page during the alleged beatdown early this morning:
-- I'm in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please.about 5 hours ago from Sidekick
-- I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke. -- about 5 hours ago from Sidekick
The phrase "pick on someone your own size" has never been truer -- as Shaquille O'Neal (7'1" 330 pounds) just challenged massive MMA fighter Hong Man Choi (7'2" 330 pounds) to a no-holds-barred fist fight.
Shaq shot this video calling out the giant after a recent training session -- and according to the clip, it seems like the challenge could be legit.
Hong's the guy who made Jose Canseco his mini-bitch back in May ... but really, is that an accomplishment?
Artie Lange ripped Joe Buck a new one in an epic battle of cut downs last night -- as the "Howard Stern Show" veteran hit the sports announcer with insult after insult on what was supposed to be a night celebrating Joe's new show.
It all started during Artie's guest appearance on the "Joe Buck Live" show on HBO last night -- but the war of words only escalated during the "overtime" segment, which takes place after the actual show and is only shown on the web.
During the webcast, Joe did his best to fight back against Artie's relentless barrage of insults -- and even managed to sneak in a few jabs of his own -- but it was clear Joe was wayyy out of his league as Artie did nothing short of brutally roast the host.
Jesus may be holding Spencer Pratt back from engaging in fisticuffs with Al Roker, but the wascally weatherman says he could have taken him -- and woulda "dumped him like a bag of dirt!"
Roker also defended himself against Heidi's accusations he belongs in the He-Man Woman Haters Club, saying he's interviewed hundreds of women before and never had a single complaint.
Al Roker owes his life to religion -- because Spencer Pratt claims he would have ripped the dude's head off this morning ... if he hadn't recently been "saved by Jesus." Hallelujah!
The Pratts were leaving Planet Hollywood in NYC this afternoon where they unloaded on the weatherman again -- calling him "disrespectful" and "inappropriate."
Heidi Pratt wants to warn any woman who comes on the "Today" show that Al Roker may have it in for them!
Heidi, who claims Roker viciously attacked her and hubby Spencer Pratt on the air this morning, tells us Al "was incredibly rude and was verbally assaulting me... I would warn any people, especially women, who are going on the show to watch out for him."
Heidi also said she had no idea Roker was going to interview them: "I just thought he did weather. I thought he was coming to tell me it's sunny in New York."
Spencer was even funnier. He told us: "I never in my wildest dreams thought a weatherman would treat us like we just rigged the Iranian election."
