Kanye Issues Statement

Rapper Kanye West issued the following statement Monday night:

"Kanye West, his family and friends would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and kind words that have come in from across the country since the death of his mother, Dr. Donda West.

After working in higher education for 31 years, Dr. Donda West and Kanye West co-founded the Kanye West Foundation with the mission of helping to combat the severe dropout problem in high schools across the country.

The first and signature initiative of the Kanye West Foundation is Loop Dreams. Designed to capitalize on students existing interest in hip-hop, Loop Dreams challenges students to learn more about what's behind hip-hop culture in order to help them develop skills, express themselves creatively and be empowered.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dr. West's name to the Kanye West Foundation/Loop Dreams Teacher Training Institute."

16. I want to start by saying that it a very sad situation and I feel bad for him because you could always tell how close Kanye and his mom were. Second, to the dumb ass people who bringing up anything Kanye has said in the past or to those who don't care, DON"T COMMENT!!!! Reading your messages just shows everyone how truly ignorant YOU are. He has suffered a great loss in his life regardless of anything else from the past. His mother just died, that is a BIG DEAL so for future references, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. It's stupid and immature.

19. It was cosmetic surgery and she Doctor-shopped to get it done. Donda was an educated woman who knew she had exsisting health problems and knew the RISK. She tossed in the dice and lost, big time. So very sad

20. I don't know Kanye that well, I don't keep up with all of that. But, I do know no matter who you are or what color or race, losing your mother is very devasting and hits to the core of your being. She was all he had. His dad left when he was 3 yrs old. Have a heart people, come on. He may have been conceited and over confident and acting like he was all that, But his mama died and so if you don't have anything nice to say "Get your sorry low life off here"
Have some respect no matter how she died. She was only 58!!! They were close and have done some great things to help kids, weather they are black or not. Keep race out of this people. Our hearts go out to him. So sad and sorry for your loss Kanye.

23. I lost my Mom two years ago. She was my best friend. My heart still aches, but she is there always. My prayers go out to you and I know that you two were so close. Your memories will sustain you. The pain will always be there but the tears will be fewer as time goes on and the memories will replace them with smiles, slowly, but it will happen one tear at a time. Gold bless you Kanye.

24. My deepest sympathies to the West family. She was young and it was sudden, and that's just SAD.

And speaking of higher education, how about an apostrophe after the s in "students," Harvey? It's one of those thingamajiggies...you know...what's that word called? Oh yeah, it's called a possessive.

26. To the West family, you have my condolences. It's hard when you lose a love one. It will take time for the pain to begin to subside. You are not alone. You have your heavenly father walking every step of the way with you. When you feel like you can't stand on your own just lean on him. As for the other people making coments about the West family, look in the mirror and take a good look. His mom was a strong educated person. Can you say the same of yourself or your family. This mother and son went to the boys and girls club to encourage them to do the right thing. What have you done for our future adults. Everyone make mistakes, If you don't like his music you have choices, don't listen to it and keep your heartless coments to yourself. You don't know why she decided to have whatever preceedure done. Sometimes different things on the body can cause pain or difficulty so you try to do what you think is best. Don't judge people so quickly. I'm sure you haven't made perfect decisions all of your life.

To God Be The Glory For the things He, has done in the Lifeof the late Dr. Dondra West.

Remember that our God, never makes a mistake. I lost my mother, bestfriend and Queen-B of my life on July 30, 2007 at the age of 66 she would have turn 67 on August 2, 2007 and the devil tried to mess with my mind. Mr. West dont pay any attention to any bad comments that are being said about you, its only the devil. Please read Psalm 23 and the word of God will comfort you.

Remember:

"You can do all things through Jesus Christ; who strengthens you."
