Don't Mess with Christopher Plummer! He Will Cut You!

Christopher Plummer did a radio promo tour for his new flick, "Man in the Chair" this morning -- but left "The Walton & Johnson Show" in Houston with nothing but a dial tone. The nerve!

We're also told he did this to several other stations. Note to entertainment reporters worldwide -- if Plummer sends you a screener, you bettah watch it!

76. Until the interview I had thought Christopher Plummer was dead...

77. As a true 10%er,I have to say that what Mr Plummer did was beyond rude.He was there to promote his movie, and W&J were giving him the time to do that, with simple questions.Maybe the coot is so old he cannot remember the name of the film,or who he even is anymore.
And to all the other 10%ers out there...dont forget to eat it ...everyday!

78. Before Mr. Plummer came on, Walton and Johnson spent a good twenty minutes promoting the up-coming interview with him. They described who he was, some of his previous works, and the name of the movie Mr. Plummer was to promote. W&J have had recent interviews with Alan Alda and Lynn Chaney that were exceptional due to the personality of the people being interviewed and the format it was presented in. The Walton and Johnson Show is not a run of the mill small market broadcast show, nor are they "Shock Joks". Only 10% of the people who listen unerstand or get it.
All hail the Radio Gawds!

79. I was stranded in a houston airport rental car bus this morning and heard Walton and Johnson for the over the bus radio. They sounded dumb to me. Two guys useing different voices as they read gossip mags and the USA Today. Some loyal listener called is saying he would vote for Obama to get the illigals out of the country because Obama would ruin the economy. I understand Plummer hanging up on them. Red necks on the radio for red necks.
Go Red Socks.

80. i hope christopher plummer never makes another dime. those hollyweird peckerheads think their god, but they are dumb as rocks, and don't deserve to be pissed on if they was on fire.

81. The only people who "haven't done their homework" are the 90 Percenters on this thread who've never listened to the venerable Walton and Johnson Show (you've had a quarter-century to catch up, jacklegs) and don't have a clue about how radio promotions work.

W&J were NOT EXACTLY looking for approbation and approval from Baron Von Trapp, ladies and gentlemen, and could just as easily have filled the time with something far more entertaining. Rather, they and their station were GRACIOUS enough to grant ol' Chris a few minutes on the air to promote his movie -- which, you folks don't seem to get, necessitates the interviewee actually TELLING HIS AUDIENCE ABOUT WHAT HE'S TRYING TO SELL THEM. Plummer chose instead to be a jerk -- if hanging up on your hosts on the air is "old school class" then it's no wonder a lot of people thought he was already dead.

But Plummer will now live forever -- as a running joke on the W&J Radio Show, entertaining us all long after whatever the hell movie this is quietly flits in and out of theaters. So, eat it EVERY day, loyal 10 Percenters! And to the Baron and anyone who thinks he's still relevant, just eat it. :)

82. Christopher was right to do this; what busy person wants their time wasted by lazy people?

83. I notice there are many rude and ignorant comments on here made by what are obviously Americans. It doesn't even take their defeat by a tin pot middle east country to make them look like cretins does it?

84. I understand your loyalty. But the 10% folks are blindly following two men who make a living reading the newspaper while on the air. They also make a few comments about gun control, public eduation or the mayor base on nothing more than some inflamatory comment from a public official.
Get smart people. Read the paper before you hear it read to you. Form you own opinion and consider yourselves lucky to be able to make choices by yourself. When you support W & J you show how very uninformed that you are. Lost like lambs.

The funny thing about radio people is they have a way of controling the environment, making sure that they have the last word. The last word is very important when your adversary can respond. Makes for a good bully. Every radio person I have ever met is little more than some timid ego driven leech scared to death that their show is going to be cut and that after the cut, its over. I mean over. n Look around Houston: Chris Baker, Stevens and Pruitt, Outlaw Dave, Moby the list goes on and on

I am sure norman, ok needs for a morning radio team to read the daily specials at the IGA and the high school lunch menu.

Every interview is an opportunity to make the show and the guest look good. I don't think this happended with the Plummer interview.

85. It wasn't a matter of the radio hosts "not doing their homework" like some here have suggested. I heard the interview and all the jocks asked him to do was to "tell us a little about your movie" for the benefit of the listeners. NOT an unreasonable request if you're trying to promote a movie. But Plummer's ego was wounded when the hosts answered honestly by telling him they had not viewed the screening tape his people had sent the station. And the fact Mr. Plummer hung up on OTHER radio stations as well does not bode well with promtoting his movie OR positive image. I like him as an actor, but think he should rethink future promotional radio tours as it is obviously not his cup of tea.
