Spears Charged with Brit and Run

Britney Spears has been charged with one count of hit and run causing property damage and one count of driving without a valid California license. Both charges are misdemeanors, each carrying a maximum of 6 months in jail.

The charges stem from an August 6 incident in L.A. where Spears was in a private parking lot in the San Fernando Valley.

The Los Angeles City Attorney filed charges this afternoon.

Spears' arraignment is set for October 10.

The City Attorney sent Spears a letter notifying her of the charges. That letter was mailed today.

The victim filed a police report at the LAPD North Hollywood Division on August 9 and filed a report.

After leaving her lawyer's office, Britney went to a home in Bel Air.

A neighbor says the home is owned by a nurse. Ding dang, y'all, we don't know why she was there. After that, she went to a pet store in Malibu. We'll post that video tomorrow.

16. I feel sorry for this woman. I mean look at what she goes through.... all those people in her face flashin bulbs all the time. Has to be pushed up on everyday by paps. What the hell. She can't go anywhere with her children without... bulbs, bulbs, bulbs.

I see why she is like she is. She just couldn't handle all this pressure. It's amazing what you all can do to a person.

18. How long has she lived in California? She didn't have a valid drivers license? The cops never checked this out? How many times were they aware she was out on the road? So many question, never any answers.

24. This spoiled brat celebrities never learn till something bad happens. Good for you Britney, I am tired of seeing your stupid self out there acting damn. I feel sorry for you most of the time but every week there's a picture and a video of you out there acting like you are out of your mind and loving the attention. Britney should have stayed home and act like a decent human being. Good lesson for her, I hope she goes to jail. I know she's young but with all that money she can fix her life but instead she keeps abusing it. A family or no family she can fix her life. Being with that looser KFed messed her up. All he wants is money and she was damn to fall for him for what his time and sex!!! I hope Britney and KFed both go down. It is very stupid to involve the court and social services for both of them and the kids. Their life is nothing but drama. Maybe this will wake her up. Send them all to jail since they think they are untouchable. Let's see you now Britney smiling and running around at the sores, streets and in your car. She supported KFed she should have been smart enough to hire a decent driver or a friend. BRITNEY BRAVO YOU ARE SO DAMN acting like a child out there. 25. How can she not have a valid driver's license and not have gotten in trouble before? She was pulled over after this incident twice by the police in like a week when she bought that brand new mercedes. So if her license was invalid, wouldn't they have done something to her then? Also, no police officer was called to the scene of this parking lot incident. So how can she be charged with driving without a valid license?
