Spector Murder Trial Goes to the Jury

Five months after it began, the murder trial of crazy-haired music legend Phil Spector ended Friday.

Spector was tried for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. The prosecution alleged that he murdered Clarkson in February 2003, just after she entered his Alhambra, Calif. mansion. The defense argued that Clarkson committed suicide, claiming that she was depressed and had planned to kill herself. Miss Clarkson, 40, died after being shot in the mouth.

The prosecutor alleged that Spector has a history of terrorizing women, and that on the night of Clarkson's death, he emerged from the home with a gun and said to his chauffeur, "I think I killed somebody." The defense countered that the chauffeur was mistaken and that there was no scientific evidence linking the gun to Phil.

Spector, 67, was charged with second-degree murder, and if convicted, faces 15 years to life in prison.

48.
For his defense team turning Clarkson the victim into some depressed suicidal gold digger I hope they give him life
I don't think he will walk, Although it is LA, But he may kill himself before doing any time.
This guy's contribution to music has been over rated.

49. PHIL SPECTOR IS PROBABLY INNOCENT.
Lana Clarkson was a drug addict and alcoholic. I knew her. She was a user.
She was also a high-dollar prostitute who was always broke because her money was going up her cokehead nose.
She had episodes of psychosis in which she heard voices.
I wouldn't be surprised if she shot herself. She was over the top right on the edge.

50. He's guilty & I hope his money will probably acquit him but I hope not. He had a habit playing with guns & this time, the gun went off.

51. Ha. Kathy Griffin goes to the bottom of the list again behind a accused murder and a few people who I care about even less then Kathy. And WTF is up with that hair, what a trainwreck. Her handlers must just laugh their asses off at her when she's not around. I would.

52. to me his guilt comes down to his driver saying Phil said "I think I killed somebody", her purse being on her arm, the 5 women that didn't even know each other testifying that he pulled guns on them and his crazy defense. what woman would have to be begged to go to someone's house after work, just bought 7 pairs of shoes, and decided to kill herself in a total stranger's house? If anything I could believe accidental, but suicide? no way but as the prosecutor said, "it doesn't matter how the gun went off, it is still his fault for having the gun in her face". I think he is guilty as hell and if he was poor or being tried anywhere but LA he would be found guilty in a heartbeat but they let Robert Blake off so in LA anything is possible. This man is crazy and if he gets off with this, it will be open season on women in LA.

53. Alan Jackson is the best prosecutor I have ever seen but I think he should have ended it the way he began. If you saw her deciding to get in Phil's, what would you whisper to her? "don't go, don't go". I think that was powerful and it would have been great to end with that

54. sorry, meant to say if you saw her getting in Phil's car on my previous post.

55. Between his pistol whipping past, and having threatened to kill people, his volatile character, I do not believe that Lana killed herself. I also do not believe that he intentionally murdered her. None of us will EVER know if she was sitting in that chair with her purse over her shoulder, waiting to exit his home OR if she was doing some last minute "casting" for him.....for whatever strange reason, BUT, it was HIS gun and he has a long, long history of pistol whipping and threatening to KILL men AND women with guns. He is guilty.....maybe not of pre-meditated murder, but of accidentally killing her. He put the gun in her mouth, and told her to kiss it.........he has done it to other women. That is what he did to her. Somehow, the trigger was pulled....he then told his driver he killed someone, and before the police got their, he put the gun under her leg, went into the bathroom and attempted to wash her blood off his hands leaving a couple blood and water soaked towels behind, went upstairs to his closet and touching a jacket, debating on whether or not to change his clothes, left her blood on that jacket in his closet, in his room. He then went back downstairs, and stood over her body, staring at her with his guilty hands shoved in his pockets until the police arrived. Police told him to remove his hands from his pockets. He refused and became beligerent with the police. They had to tase him to get him into cuffs and the cruiser. He is a self proclaimed "evil genious", mad-man, who takes the equivolent of antipsychotic medications, and has a long history of being abusive to people, for most his adult life. If he does not do SOME time, justice will not be served.

SO, PEOPLE, YOUNG AND OLD, HEED MY WARNING and BEWARE OF WHOM YOU CHOOSE CLIMB INTO LIMO'S WITH. YOU MAY FIND YOURSELF STUCK IN A MANSION WITH A CRAZED LUNATIC WHO DOES NOT WANT YOU TO LEAVE...........COMPLETELY BY YOURSELF, JUST THE TWO OF YOU........GATES LOCKED, AND HE'S GOT PLANS FOR YOU THAT ARE NOT GOING TO BE PLEASANT.......

56. JOANIE and Iona, I agree with you both. AND she did have both her wrists that had been badly broken, with surgeries on each just the year before! She did not pick that gun up and pull the trigger herself. Can you imagine how scared she must have been those last few moments of her life? He terrorized her, I believe. No she wasn't a saint, or perfect......but she certainly did not deserve to meet this brutal, bloody fate at the hands of wacko Phil Spector........who has such a LONG history of violence with guns, anyways! I sure hope we see some justice here.

57. ANYONE WHO TERROIZES WOMEN IN SUCH A MATTER IS MORE THAN SUSPICIOUS OF AN OBVIOUS DEATH IN THEIR HOME AND THE SYING "I THINK I KILLED SOMEONE''..

58. First, and most important I think this man has some mental issues: abandonment and having lived with overbearing females (mother and sister). Although he has been on medications for years, these issues seem to manifest with alcohol and then the monster awakens. I believe this monster is guilty of murder. The limo driver said he came out with the gun in hand and said, "I think I killed somebody". Why would he have the gun in hand if he did not use it? Why did he not call 911? Why did he try to clean up her body? I think he had it out for her when she accidently called him Ms. Spector. The defense said his DNA was found on her breast, her DNA found on his private area and both of their DNA found on a glass with alcohol which proves they had some kind of sexual activity. I don't think so. She could have been drinking from the glass and then he drank from the glass and as for the DNA on their body parts, that is probably some of his clean up to diffuse the real scenario. We all know its dangerous to play with guns and he seems to ignore that fact and has used guns to control people of all his life. I think Lana may have had ups and downs but she was a strong and very beautiful woman. I cannot see her taking her own life, she had so much to live for. The only way I could see her killing herself is if she did have sex with a monster like that! As for his wife, she is a smoke screen. She apparently did a small role in a movie and had one picture in Playboy but now she has camera time and may become famous from this. Well, I guess that depends if he is found guilty and goes to prison. What will happen if he is found innocent, will he dump her or kill her???? I hope money does not buy his way out of justice for Lana.

60. Spector has no history of pulling a gun on someone he just met.
He has no history of sticking a gun in anybody's mouth.
*****The absence of blood and gunshot residue on either sleeve of the jacket he was wearing proves Spector did not shoot Clarkson.*****
