Celebrity Justice
Spector Murder Trial Goes to the Jury

Five months after it began, the murder trial of crazy-haired music legend Phil Spector ended Friday.

Spector was tried for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. The prosecution alleged that he murdered Clarkson in February 2003, just after she entered his Alhambra, Calif. mansion. The defense argued that Clarkson committed suicide, claiming that she was depressed and had planned to kill herself. Miss Clarkson, 40, died after being shot in the mouth.

The prosecutor alleged that Spector has a history of terrorizing women, and that on the night of Clarkson's death, he emerged from the home with a gun and said to his chauffeur, "I think I killed somebody." The defense countered that the chauffeur was mistaken and that there was no scientific evidence linking the gun to Phil.

Spector, 67, was charged with second-degree murder, and if convicted, faces 15 years to life in prison.

16. I have so many of Spectors old classic vinyl record albums he produced. everryone from the Beatles to the Righteous Brothers to anyone who was anyone in the music world. He has stupidly thrown away his Wonderful God given talent by committing something so heinous i can barely think of it. I have a book by Janet jackson, in the book she says that while at Spectos house , he watched her through a bathroom peephole. Then he started pounding the piano like a manic saying that he was going to make her bigger than her brother Micheal, She says she got scared and started going for her car. This iodiot chased her all the way to her car as she started running, , shouting like crazy person. Spector did similar to his wife Ronnie Spector of the Ronnettes. There is no doubt in my opinion that Spector killed poor Lana Clarkson. famous or not, i hope his butt gets stuck in prison for this crime so awful i can barely think of it,. He will probably get off light due to insanity, though he shouldnt, what a sickening waste of all involved.

18. I've watched most of the trial and have decided that he did it, altho I don't think it was deliberate. Phil finally did what yhe has probably wanted to do since his father died. And Miss Clarkson was not so massivelyu depressede that she killed herself.

21. First, and most important I think this man has some mental issues: abandonment and having lived with overbearing females (mother and sister). Although he has been on medications for years, these issues seem to manifest with alcohol and then the monster awakens. I believe this monster is guilty of murder. The limo driver said he came out with the gun in hand and said, "I think I killed somebody". Why would he have the gun in hand if he did not use it? Why did he not call 911? Why did he try to clean up her body? I think he had it out for her when she accidently called him Ms. Spector. The defense said his DNA was found on her breast, her DNA found on his private area and both of their DNA found on a glass with alcohol which proves they had some kind of sexual activity. I don't think so. She could have been drinking from the glass and then he drank from the glass and as for the DNA on their body parts, that is probably some of his clean up to diffuse the real scenario. We all know its dangerous to play with guns and he seems to ignore that fact and has used guns to control people of all his life. I think Lana may have had ups and downs but she was a strong and very beautiful woman. I cannot see her taking her own life, she had so much to live for. The only way I could see her killing herself is if she did have sex with a monster like that! As for his wife, she is a smoke screen. She apparently did a small role in a movie and had one picture in Playboy but now she has camera time and may become famous from this. Well, I guess that depends if he is found guilty and goes to prison. What will happen if he is found innocent, will he dump her or kill her???? I hope money does not buy his way out of justice for Lana.

22. Fear begets fear....

Far too many people in our society fascinated with collecting and packing heat! We need to get very serious about our gun laws. People who live honorable and ethical lives don't need guns and bodyguards!

An obvious music genius, history of mental illness in family, his own family now suffers due to the dark mind and notoriety of their father, and the strong potential of incarceration which I sense has been earned. The people with money in the entertainment industry (who are ill) are not treated properly as they hook-up with psychiatrists (selling their souls for money) who just keep passing out the pharmaceutical drugs and not getting to the core issue so true healing can take place in the patient's mind and so the the soul continues to remain imbalanced.

A beautiful woman's life snuffed out in its prime. Beautiful women do not shoot themselves in the face. If they are suicidal, they find more gentle ways to take their own life.

Its a tragedy when the female victim's reputation is disparaged in court by money-grubbing defense attorneys. Women I know don't place weapons and beautiful sex in the same mind scenario, and I doubt Lana Clarkson did either! After seeing Linda Kinney-Baden take on this particular case, I have no respect for her as a woman or female attorney.

After the infamous trial in Los Angeles County several years ago, it has been refreshing to see a judicial class act in Judge Larry Fidler and District Attorney Alan Jackson! Unfortunately, I sense they continue to be in the minority of honorable judges/attorneys as there are far too many judges and attorneys in Los Angeles County (Florida and New York) selling their souls for connection and money to an unethical segment of society whose primary lust in this lifetime is false power and money.

May justice prevail so the life and reputation of Lana Clarkson (after the four-year period that trial was avoided due to the almighty dollar) be remembered and restored by the panel of jurors in this case.

23. If I were a juror and I had listened to the opening statement, ( not knowing the story) I think I would have said to myself...oh come on...this is murder, plain and simple, even if it is accidental and happened while he was "playing" with the gun! But then they started trotting all these experts out and then that PIE person who obviously was sucking up to his side of the story and betrayed her friend...all the salacious testimony about Lana Clarkson that didnt seem to resonate with anyone,(i.e.drugs and booze) puhleez, especially in the culture of LA.??..so at the end of the day it was all so darned confusing, I would just have voted my gut and gone back to what I had felt at the beginning..no way he is going to walk...no way!! He is cooked and they know it and that is why they replaced Cutler with the appellate guy...they are already writting their appeal, what do you want to bet??

24.
For his defense team turning Clarkson the victim into some depressed suicidal gold digger I hope they give him life
I don't think he will walk, Although it is LA, But he may kill himself before doing any time.
This guy's contribution to music has been over rated.

28. Spector will be convicted, without any doubt whatsoever. The jury will see that he is a maniac and a danger to everyone who gets near him.

29. As the women indicated in their testimony, this pulling out a gun is part of Spector's way of power tripping. I don't think he meant to kill her but scare her. However as the prosecutor pointed out, when you intentionally produce a weapon and you kill someone with it (and there's no self-defense argument), acccident or not, it elevates from manslaughter to murder. Consequently he'll be found guilty and he'll die in jail.
